Heidi de Jager is a Registered Physiotherapist with additional, post-graduate training in Women’s Pelvic Health. Heidi completed both her Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education and her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Upon her return to Victoria, Heidi started working in the private practice setting and developed a strong interest in pelvic health – with a specific focus on pre- and post-natal rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and pain management. Heidi went on to complete postgraduate training in the assessment and treatment of a variety of pelvic floor concerns, including pelvic floor dysfunction, bowel/bladder incontinence, prolapse, and (pregnancy related) pelvic pain. Heidi enjoys integrating a holistic approach to treatment and focuses on the importance of functional movements and strength. With a strong emphasis on promoting independence, Heidi enjoys using exercise in combination with education, manual techniques, and EMG biofeedback to help women return to all of the activities that they love and value in a safe and confident manner.
When not immersing herself in the world of Women’s Pelvic Health and furthering her education and knowledge, Heidi enjoys hikes with her husband and two dogs, supporting local, and the occasional handful of mini eggs.
